OnePlus Nord 2 changes team, no Qualcomm SoC for him

The OnePlus Nord 2 will launch in the second quarter of 2021 with MediaTek's Dimensity 1200 chipset. That's all Android Central just announced. Of course, this is not official news but we tend to believe it as the source is quite reliable. We all know OnePlus has always used Qualcomm processors, yes from its birth. The reason is obvious: even if the price is higher, the quality is indisputable. However, things are about to change and from this step we understand two things.

First thing: the Chinese company has decided to lower the prices a bit, considering that the chips of the Taiwanese house cost considerably less than those of Qualcomm. However, this particular model won't skimp on power. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is a very powerful one and is capable of competing with a Snapdragon 865 on equal terms.

Second thing: if a brand like OnePlus has decided to change course, it also means that the company it will turn to is no longer what it once was. The change will certainly not be due solely to a drop in price, it would be absurd. As we have repeatedly said, MediaTek is regaining lost ground and having a name like OnePlus by your side will certainly help.
