Oppo Find X3 Pro and all his little family made up of the model Lite e Neo they debuted a few months ago. These are copies of Oppo Reno 5 and company but basically in Europe, no longer having the Reno series (at least for now), we can't talk about real rebrands. There Android update policy is now known to all but Oppo has communicated to androidplanet (via GSMArena) which extended the update period for the entire series. Let's go see the details.
Oppo Find X3 Pro, Lite and Neo will be able to count on three years of update: the company announces it in a note to Android Planet
Oppo informs androidplanet that the Find X3 series update policy has been changed. Instead of two years of security updates, these have been extended to three years. In a shared statement with the source, the manufacturer also states that it stands considering extending it even to four years. It is currently being studied to see if this is possible. Oppo claims that security updates will be released monthly.
In the same statement, we read that the company is working on the release of two major Android updates. So this means that all the smartphones of the aforementioned series that today are shipped out-of-the-box with Android 11, they will receive both Android 12 and Android 13.
The move to extend the update period is a cartridge that almost all companies should shoot, even if we know that not everything depends on them. Indeed, as demonstrated, it is mainly a processor problem (Qualcomm or MediaTek that is) if the Android updates cannot be extended that much. The power of individual companies is somewhat limited.
