Xiaomi started off on the right foot this year by positioning itself in fifth place in the ranking of smartphone sales for the first quarter of 2016. This result is particularly appreciated as all the other brands in this ranking are officially present globally while, as well you know, Xiaomi is limited only to the Asian continent (for now) | Xiaomi is ranked fifth in number of smartphones sold |. This "success" was possible thanks to its new top of the range, the Xiaomi Mi 5 with all its variants, as well as all the other smartphones presented during these three and a half months, including the Xiaomi Redmire 3 Pro, or the last one in the family | Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro officially presented |.
Recently, however, a new device is timidly making its appearance and is increasingly attracting attention to itself. A device with dimensions beyond the current canons and with specifications not yet known, of which we have currently only been able to admire one component and which certainly only its name is known, that is Xiaomi Mi Max | First leak for the Xiaomi Mi Max |. However, today it has made its appearance on the web a first render of this smartphone from which it is possible to infer its design.
The design of this new phablet has been taken from that of the Xiaomi Mi 5, as it takes up every little detail (with the exception of the two holes on the sides of the ear capsule grille) of the latter, including the rounding on the rear sides continued with the lateral metal frame. Also in this case we find a physical home button with the two soft-touch buttons on the sides, under which the sensor for fingerprint recognition is positioned. The position of the on / stand-by / off and volume keys, both located on the right side of the phablet, also remains unchanged.
Also in theory, it is assumed that this device will have a display from 6,4" inch with 2K resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU. However, considering that Chinese society has stated that it is intent on making a device Medium-range, such technical specifications seem somewhat imaginative, so we doubt the true veracity of such rumors. For sure, though, we can say that Xiaomi Mi Max will have pre-installed the latest (current) version of the green robot, or Android 6 Marshmallow, with MIUI 7 custom interface (and why not, even 8).
