Realme Race is the heir of Oppo Ace, with Snap 888 | Photos and specifications

Just a few minutes ago the Qualcomm Tech Summit, an event in which the company of the same name announced the 14 telephony companies that will integrate the new processor Snapdragon 888. Clearly there will also be among them Realme which, unlike in previous years, has wasted no time and has already leaked various information on its first top-of-the-range device with this SoC. While therefore Xiaomi will present Xiaomi Mi 11 and OnePlus will present OnePlus 9, the Chinese giant will bring Realme race. The name is familiar and so is the design. It is just the same as that of Oppo Ace!

But what's going on? A fusion of smartphones or brands? Realme Race appears to be an Oppo Ace but with a different name (and processor)

A few weeks ago Realme had proposed, in the form of a patent, a device with rear cameras housed in a porthole. Well, it was just the patent of Realme race, the first device of the brand to adopt the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. Clearly the launch is scheduled for next year, but we already know something about him: key design and specifications. Let's go and see them together.

Key specifications

  • OS: Android 11 updated to Realme UI 2.0;
  • processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (octa-core 1 x 2.84GHZ Cortex X1 Super Core + 3 x 2.4GHz Cortex A78 + 4 x 1.8GHZ Cortex A55);
  • RAM and memory: 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage;
  • rear cameras: door module with four sensors.

Design

As regards the design of this smartphone, for the moment only the B side is known. It is possible to see the quadruple rear camera in which the optics are housed in a rather symmetrical manner. At the moment we don't know how many megapixels and which sensors will be integrated. In the lower part there is also the brand logo, which however also suggests another feature of the smartphone: the back will be glass / ceramic and we understand it from the effect of the writing.

Clearly it will not be launched now and especially not in Europe. But what seems strange is the will resume the design of Oppo Ace 2… And also the name. Is this the only way to bring the Reno to the European market? On the other hand it is Realme and Oppo are part of the same group… It wouldn't be that strange.
