This morning Redmi, the Xiaomi sub-brand, officially announced the second generation of its 300W fast charging technology based on the one already launched on the Redmi Note 12 Exploration Edition. Breaking the fast charging record for smartphones once again.

According to official measurements published by Redmi, the 4100mAh battery can be charged to 10% in 43 seconds, 50% in 2 minutes 13 seconds, and fully charged in 5 minutes.
Redmi has also specified that the power of 300 W is intended at the end of the charger and goes through all the components and then reaches the battery.
In particular, we have a 300W charger which adopts the fourth generation GaN (gallium nitride) integrated solution. Its power is increased by 43% but its volume is exactly the same as the previous generation of Xiaomi's 210W charger and the power density reaches 2,31W/cm³.
In terms of heat dissipation, the 300W charger adds a large area of graphene to promote heat dissipation on the even base to achieve ultra-high power.
In terms of charging architecture, the 300W super charge has a built-in custom 6:2 charge pump chip with a maximum conversion efficiency of 98%. Compared to the conventional 4:2 charge pump solution, it solves the problem of high current heating in the charge entry path and reduces it from the source.
At the same time, multiple charge pumps adopt distributed layout to effectively avoid heat concentration. The official measured peak power is up to 290 watts, and the power duration above 280 watts exceeds 2 minutes.
Also, unlike the traditional dual-cell side-by-side arrangement, the 300W charging adopts a “sandwich” stacking pattern to achieve higher heat dissipation and higher space utilization. Finally, the PCM protection board of the battery also has a double-layer design, which can effectively reduce the space occupied by the protection board by 50%.
