While we're still inundated with leaks and rumors that suggest different names for the next Redmi flagship store, a much more important information for many will perhaps be that revealed today by Lu Weibing, general manager of Redmi and vice-president of Xiaomi Group.
In fact, Lu Weibing shared the first screenshot from the top of the brand's future that became independent at the beginning of the year, revealing the screen resolution.
Redmi Flagship: Now we know the screen resolution
To the surprise of a few, as we can see in the image above, the screen resolution will be 2340 × 1080, which is the same as many other devices with a display aspect ratio of 19,5: 9.
So, at least on the front the design should be similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 which has a screen with the same resolution and no notch or hole on the screen. The next Redmi flagship is in fact coming with a front camera with a pop-up mechanism, which effectively eliminates the presence of "obstacles" on the surface of the screen.
The other features already confirmed by Lu Weibing then include the most powerful mobile processor on the market, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the presence of an audio jack from 3,5mm to be able to connect your favorite headphones and an NFC module to make electronic payments and not only.
Instead, as regards the features not yet validated, we have a Sony IMX586 sensor as the main rear camera probably assisted by a telephoto lens sensor and an ultra wide-angle. We will then find a large 4000mAh battery or more, a fingerprint sensor under the screen and consequently an AMOLED display (the UD sensors do not work under LCD screens).
Redmi's first real flagship will be the cheapest Snapdragon 855 device on the market, at least according to Lu Weibing, with the presentation date that appears to be the next 13 in May.
Is the battery alone 4000mah already safe? No more hope? Under-screen sensor confirmed? Imagine a week we will know more
The 855 is very good for consumption… combined with an oled panel I wouldn't worry about autonomy
