Redmi K40 Pro: the product director confirms that the screen will be flat

While the next Xiaomi Mi 11 continues to be talked about, another device perhaps even more awaited for those who love to save could arrive sooner than previously thought. As the title suggests, we refer to the Redmi K40 Pro, which is the next flagship killer of the Xiaomi sub-brand.

In fact, China confirms a very important detail when it comes to smartphones: the display design. The news comes directly from Redmi's product director, Wang Tang, who on the social Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) would have just stated that the K40 Pro will not adopt a curved screen. So as a result it has been confirmed that the smartphone will continue to integrate a flat screen like its predecessor.

On the other hand, to date we have never seen a Redmi device with a curved screen, a feature that seems reserved for devices from the Xiaomi parent company also because it causes a price increase. So from a certain point of view we have a "win-win" situation for those who prefer to save and do not want a curved screen on the sides.

Having said that, like we found out yesterday, the Redmi K40 Pro could see a display downgrade, with the full screen pop-up camera design from the previous series being replaced by a perforated display. Even in this case, however, some may see it as a plus and not a downgrade.

As for the rest, the display of the Redmi K40 Pro could continue to use a Full HD + resolution, again to keep the prices lower, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, so as to remain in line with the Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition, also known as K30 Ultra. We certainly don't expect a 144Hz refresh rate display like on the latest K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition, available in China.

Finally, display aside, the Redmi K40 Pro could be one of the first devices with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, after the Xiaomi Mi 11 which as we learned in the previous days will certainly be the first smartphone with Snapdragon 888.
