Redmi K50 Gaming Edition launched in China together with the Champion Edition (AMG-Petronas)

As scheduled, Redmi has just presented the new Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, a high-performance smartphone with a relatively low price; but he is not alone!

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition launched in China together with the Champion Edition (AMG-Petronas)

Let's start with the design of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition which is clearly inspired by that of racing cars. Compared to the previous generation, the design is more aggressive and is designed around the "X" element. The X on the back of the device runs from the camera frame and speaker openings to the lights and volume keys.

At the same time, the e-sport version of the K50 pays more attention to detail and body lines, with the entire fuselage being CNC-machined of the highest quality. Furthermore, the smartphone has been designed with a completely flat central frame and the rear cover glass adopts a homogeneous opaque process. While the crisp mech-like lines and 16 million color lights all play an appropriate decorative role for a gaming phone.

The K50 Gaming Edition will be available in Ice Slash, Silver Wing and Shadow colors.

Going to the specifications, the smartphone is equipped with the new generation chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, integrated by LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal memory. The smartphone also has a lateral fingerprint recognition sensor and the first AAC CyberEngine ultra-wideband X-axis-1016 engine for unparalleled vibrations.

As for the largely anticipated cooling system, the smartphone adopts a 4860 mm² dual VC heat dissipation scheme (40% increase in thermal conductivity), ultra-wide graphene and high-power graphite with second generation aerospace design ( 20% increase in thermal conductivity). The processor is also covered with a thermally conductive copper radiator, which improves thermal conductivity by 3,5 times. According to official data, the smartphone can stably run 120 frames per second on games like "Honor of Kings" and 60fps for "Genshin Impact", after a 30-minute session the temperature of the device is below 44 ℃

The result of this high-performance hardware can be admired on the 6,67-inch flexible OLED flat screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, touch sampling rate of 480 Hz. The screen also has MEMC support, resolution 2400 × 1080, 1920Hz high-frequency PWM attenuation, 10-bit color depth, environmental support color temperature detection, passed DisplayMate A + certification, won 15 screen records DisplayMate A +, JNCD≈0,18, Delta E≈0,30 and it is covered with Corning Victus glass.

In terms of photography, the front lens of the smartphone is the first 596 MP Sony IMX20 sensor, while on the back we have a 64 MP main camera (Sony IMX686), an 8 MP (OV8856), ultra wide angle and a macro camera 2MP (GC02M1). The device is also equipped with a flagship Flicker sensor to shoot the screen without any flickering.

In other respects, the gaming phone has a built-in 4700mAh dual-cell battery and supports 120W fast charging, for 100% charging in 17 minutes and 2,27x faster charging while gaming. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition has a thickness of 8,5 mm, a weight of 210 g and has retractable magnetic buttons on the shoulder (version 2.0), as well as four JBL Broadband units as speakers (dual mid-bass unit 1115 + dual tweeter 0611). As if that were not enough, we also have 3 microphones, a Pro infrared emitter (up to 20 meters away from the front angle and up to 50 ° of remote control angle), supports multifunction NFC and arrives with the MIUI 13.

Finally, there is the Redmi K50 Champion Edition which is a version created by Xiaomi together with the AMG Petronas Formula 1 team. The smartphone has the Mercedes logo, the exclusive green line of the AMG Petronas F1 team and a fiber weave of carbon.
