After a brief talk show by Redmi's general manager, Lu Weibing, at the Xiaomi sub brand conference, the new Redmi Note 9 series dedicated to the Chinese market has finally been officially presented. As suspected, this includes three devices: the Redmi Note 9 4G, the Redmi Note 9 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Redmi Note 9 4G, Note 9 and Note 9 Pro official in China: up to Snapdragon 750G and 108MP sensor
Let's start with the cheapest of the bunch, the Redmi Note 4G. The smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 as a CPU, thus bringing excellent performance for the price range. The SoC is then supported by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory of the UFS 2.2 type.
The Note 9 4G arrives with a 6.53-inch diagonal panel with Full HD + resolution, contrast ratio of 1.500: 1, an aspect ratio of 19,5: 9 and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it from scratches and drops.
For photos, on the other hand, the smartphone adopts three cameras on the back with 48MP main, 1/2 inch large sensor, 1.6μm 4-in-1 pixel and focal aperture f / 1.79. Then we have a secondary 2MP for macro photos and another 2MP as a depth sensor. While for selfies we find an 8MP front camera with 1.12μm pixels and f / 2.0 5 focal aperture.
Finally, the device equips a 6000mAh battery that supports fast charging with a maximum power of 18W. Other features include a 3,5mm headphone jack, 2,4GHz / 5GHz WIFI, Bluetooth 5.0, infrared emitter, FM radio, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI Face Unlock.
Let's now move on to the Redmi Note 9 (5G). As the name suggests this terminal is equipped with a 5G-ready chip, namely the MediaTek Dimensity 800U. A truly performing CPU that will be accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card.
As for the photographic sector, the smartphone adopts a total of three cameras. We find a 48MP main sensor with f / 1.79 focal aperture, 2MP secondary for macro and a 2MP depth sensor. Here too we find an 8MP camera for selfies.
In terms of autonomy, the Redmi Note 9 integrates a smaller 5000mAh battery than the 4G version, while the additional features remain, including: 3,5 mm headphone jack, 2,4 GHz / 5 GHz WIFI, Bluetooth 5.0, infrared emitter, FM radio, side mounted fingerprint sensor and AI Face Unlock.
Last, but not least, we have the best performing Note series smartphone ever: the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The device is in fact powered by the brand new Snapdragon 750G, a mid-high-end CPU capable of reaching over 350 thousand points on the platform. AnTuTu benchmarking.
But it does not end there, because we will be able to make the most of this hardware thanks to a display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and touch sampling of 240Hz. Making it one of the best gaming smartphones for those on a budget (at least in China). In any case, the display has a size of 6,67 inches and Full HD + resolution.
The photographic sector also sees a great upgrade compared to previous generations. Redmi has in fact managed to equip a 108MP sensor, in particular we are talking about the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HM2 with 9 in 1 pixel fusion technology, native dual ISO and AI Super Night Scene 2.0 algorithm. The other cameras then have a resolution of 8MP for the ultra wide one, 2MP for the macro 2MP for the depth sensor.
From the standpoint of autonomy, the Note 9 Pro sees a slight downgrade compared to its younger brothers with a battery of "only" 4820mAh. On the positive side, however, there is the fast charge that reaches up to 33W. Among the other features we find a lateral fingerprint sensor and NFC for electronic payments etc ..
Finally, for prices, we have the Note 9 4G 4GB / 128GB with a price of 999 yuan (127 €), the Redmi Note 9 (5G) 6GB / 128GB will cost 1299 yuan (166 €), while the Note 9 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory will be sold for 1599 yuan, about 205 euros at the exchange rate.
