Segway S-Pod is the new Professor Xavier-style electric vehicle

Among the most curious products of Xiaomi, or rather of its ecological chain, there are also those of Segway. This large company that has enjoyed huge success in China since its inception, basically produces electric vehicles. We have seen how the last of these machines moved with clean energy is the racing bike Apex: 100 km / h in just three seconds being able to take advantage of one maximum power of 110 kw (kilowatt) equivalent to as many as 150 hp (horses), all translatable with maximum 200 km / h. Today, however, the brand has come out with a new product, that is Segway s-pod, an electric chair (the one to move obviously) X-Men style reminiscent of that of Professor Charles Xavier.

Futuristic rescue capsule or modern armchair on wheels, if it had left a few days ago it would have been elected product of the year without a doubt.

The peculiarity of this scooter, if we can call it that, is that of do not force the driver to stand or sitting like on a motorbike, but to be comfortable comfortable sitting like on a real armchair. Segway-S-Pod is a hybrid between a wheelchair and a futuristic armchair that allows you to move around using the joystick placed on the armrest, with a mechanism similar to that of the hoverboards that are so fashionable. The nice thing is that it comes sold together with spare wheels.

There are two wheels in the rear and a third, smaller, in the front; it is not clear when this comes into operation but it is plausible that it is used when you want to come across a climb or one downhill steep enough to avoid falling on the ground. That's right, because contrary to what you might think, this futuristic pod also does well uphill given its speed. There full speed, according to the company, is of 24 miles per hour equivalent to about 38 km / h. The autonomy in terms of length traveled is almost 44 miles, or 77 km. The slope that the new Segway S-Pod product can achieve is 10 degrees.

Do you want it? You can't, at least for now. We explain why: the company has admitted that for the moment it is not possible to sell this product "to private individuals", meaning that the purchase by simple onlookers of the pod is not allowed. He therefore announced that initially the S-Pod will only be used in large shopping centers or theme parks, where stand-up scooters are now very common.
