Sharp has just announced that it will release its first 5G-equipped smartphone, the Sharp AQUOS R5G, on July 2nd in Taiwan.

Previously, the Sharp AQUOS R5G had gone on sale on the Japanese market. Sharp said that even in the severe epidemic, R5G sales still exceeded 40.000 and continue to increase.
The Sharp AQUOS R5G is a smartphone with a somewhat interesting design. In fact, it comes with two notches, an upper one with the camera inside and a lower one where the fingerprint sensor has been positioned instead. And no, this is not a mid-range with which they wanted to experience something different, but a real flagship powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 as a processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory.
The AQUOS R5G then adopts a 6,5-inch Pro IGZO display with QHD + resolution (3168 × 1440 resolution), a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1000 nits.
As for cameras, the smartphone incorporates a 16MP sensor in front for selfies, while on the back we find a total of four cameras. These include a 12MP main, a 48MP super wide angle, a 12MP telephoto and a TOF sensor.
Among other specifications we have the 3730mAh battery, NFC module; WiFi 6, IP68 certified and facial recognition.
