Sharp AQUOS sense8 presented: light and resistant smartphone with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1

Sharp, the well-known Japanese electronics manufacturer, has just announced its new smartphone AQUOS sense8, a mid-range model that stands out with some interesting specs and features. The device, which will be available in three colors (pink, green and black), has a robust and resistant body, compliant with MIL-STD-810H standard, making it suitable to withstand shocks, drops, vibrations, dust and humidity.

Despite its solidity, the AQUOS sense8 is also a very light smartphone, weighing just 159 grams. It is one of the lightest devices on the market, which however offers a capacious 5.000 mAh battery, capable of guaranteeing excellent autonomy. The screen is a 6,1-inch OLED with Full HD + resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate.

On the performance front, the AQUOS sense8 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card slot. This is a new generation chipset, designed to offer a good balance between power and energy efficiency. The operating system is Android 13 with interface customized by Sharp.

As for the rear camera, the AQUOS sense8 boasts a 50 megapixel sensor with a size of 1/1.55 ​​inches and a pixel size of 2μm. This means the camera is able to capture lots of light and detail, even in low light conditions. Furthermore, the camera supports the optical image stabilization (OIS), useful for avoiding blurry photos. There front camerainstead, it has one 16 megapixel resolution.

Among the other features of the AQUOS sense8, we find the jack for 3.5mm headphones, the fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, the support fast charging and reverse wireless charging. Sharp has not yet announced the official price of the smartphone, but it is estimated that it could cost around 50.000 yen (about $333) in Japan. It is not yet known whether the device will also arrive in other markets.
