Despite the launch event of the new Redmi Note 9 and 9 Pro, mother Xiaomi was able to dedicate some time to some of its smartphones, especially old glories. Let's start with Xiaomi Mi 8 which in these hours receives a further update to the already present MIUI 11, which updates to version 11.0.6.0. The unclear thing is that this smartphone had already received Android 10 in December 2019 as well as the new MIUI 11 interface, but despite this the new update has a weight close to 2 GB. In reality the explanation is that this update was released in two tranches: therefore some users had received the listed innovations and now all the rest of the users have the opportunity to obtain Android 10 and the new MIUI 11. Confirming this is the presence of the security patch updated to December 2019.
Even the good old and dear Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 gets an update, which brings the MIUI 11 to version 11.0.5.0, whose changelog net of a much less important weight than that of Mi 8, speaks of several improvements. Among the most important we point out that relating to the Status Bar and notification bar, which in some cases could not be pulled down and which did not allow access to the settings via the dedicated button.
Other problems concerned the security center, the Xiaomi cloud service in which it was no longer possible to access via ID as it was not recognized. Finally, other corrections concern the network assistant and a problem related to image overlay at the bottom of the long screenshot. Strange to say but the exact same changelog was dedicated to an old glory, still highly appreciated among the lovers of the brand, namely the Xiaomi Mi 6.

Finally, to conclude with beauty also Redmi Note 7 Pro is updated, although the changelog for him is the same as that seen for Mi 6 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, with the only difference that for the Redmi branded device we also have an update on the February 2020 security patches.
As you have certainly noticed, these upgrades are currently available for Chinese ROMs, so we have to wait a little longer to get the OTA notification on our smartphone. Well, we just have to hope for those few smartphones that seem to have been abandoned to their fate, as in the case of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G. Come on, dear development team, give us this gift as we are destined to spend a lot of time at home.
