Official iQOO U1: budget smartphone without hardware sacrifices

The iQOO company, born from a rib of Vivo, is doing a lot of talk about itself these days, first with the announcement of the 120W fast charging technology and now with a new smartphone, a very interesting low cost because it does not seem to give open to compromises in terms of hardware and performance.

Despite the new connectivity standard turning more and more towards 5G networks, iQOO U1 offers only support for the traditional 4G, the only real flaw in terms of specifications but everything else will make you forget this gap, replaced by a modern and excellent look technical data sheet in relation to the sale price.

Official iQOO U1: budget smartphone without hardware sacrifices

We are in front of a smartphone equipped with a large 6,53-inch diagonal LCD display with Full HD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels), in 19,5: 9 format interrupted by the presence of a hole (punch hole) in the part upper left, dedicated to the selfie camera. For a weight of 190 grams and dimensions equal to 162.05 x 76.61 x 8.46 mm, the iQOO U1 on the rear houses a triple camera arranged in a traffic light and moved to the left of the back cover.

But the interesting part of the device is found under the hood, as iQOO U1 is powered by a Snapdragon 720G processor, an 8nm octacore capable of reaching a clock of 2.3 GHz while from the point of view of autonomy, we can rely on a 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The specific picture is completed by an allocation of 6/8 GB LPDDR4X type RAM and 64/128 GB of UFS 2.1 type internal storage. The photographic sector, on the other hand, is expressed with 48 + 2 + 2 MP sensors, one of which is used for shots in macro mode. On the front, the selfie camera is an 8MP unit.

Let's talk about prices, really interesting for this iQOO U1, which arrives on the market at a launch price of 1198 yuan, or about 150 euros at the current exchange rate, for the 6/64 GB variant while the remaining 6/128 GB and 8 versions / 128 GB are proposed respectively at 1398 and 1598 yuan, equal to about 175 and 200 euros at the exchange rate respectively.

At the moment the first pre-orders of the product have started while the real marketing will take place on 23 July. We don't know if it will ever arrive in the global market and therefore in Italy, but we hope a little.
