Today Counterpoint Research, a well-known market research agency, released data regarding the smartphone market in China of 2021. The data shows that Vivo is in first place with a market share of 22%, in first place.
Vivo becomes the first smartphone manufacturer in China, while Huawei relentlessly collapses
CounterPoint said the Vivo's strong market performance in 2021 is mainly due to sales of its X70 series and S series models.
Then we have OPPO (including OnePlus) following closely with a 21% market share, just 1% behind Vivo and a 26% year-over-year increase. In third place is Apple, although the annual share is only 16%, but Apple's growth in 2021 is 47%. Also, this is a very good result given that the average price of iPhones is much higher than that of Android phones.
It is worth mentioning that with the sales of the iPhone 13 series, Apple's market share in China also reached a new high.
In any case, Counterpoint's data shows that the top five smartphone companies in China in 2021 are: Vivo, OPPO, Apple, Xiaomi and Honor.
Specifically Xiaomi accounts for 15% and both Honor and Huawei were 10%, but Honor has increased 6% year over year and Huawei has decreased 68% year over year.
Finally, we have it seeing the fastest growth in 2021, with a year-over-year increase of 379% and a market share of 3%.
