Vivo registers a patent for OPPO Find X-style smartphones

The Oppo Find X was considered by many to be the most innovative smartphone of 2018, offering a retractable module that hid all the cameras from the body of the device to offer a clean design never seen before. Since then, the various smartphone OEMs have tried to have their say on the full screen display theme, proposing pop up cameras, dual displays etc .. but on balance at the level of innovation we have not witnessed who knows what revolution.

Apparently Vivo, which is part of the Chinese conglomerate BBK Electronics composed of OPPO and OnePlus, has just registered a patent that seems to inherit what OPPO has proposed with its first generation Find X.

Vivo registers a patent for OPPO Find X-style smartphones

The images show a smartphone without a front camera on the screen and with a quad camera on the back. When the retractable module is activated, it is possible to notice a large gap in the front region that could easily accommodate 3D facial recognition sensors in addition to the front camera, while in the rear region you can notice a pop-up LED flash.

For now there are no further details or information on the smartphone, and remember that being a patent, this may not even come to life. But the question to ask is whether Vivo really wants to return to the design proposed by OPPO back in 2018, considering that the idea was abandoned due to poor functionality in everyday life.
