WhatsApp: an update introduces single-vote polls and other new features

WhatsApp has released a updating for its messaging app on iOS and Android. After introducing the possibility of link the same profile on multiple smartphones or devices even if the primary phone is offline, the instant messaging platform has launched some interesting news related to specific polls. Let's find out more details, revealed directly from the official WhatsApp blog.

WhatsApp: now you can give a single vote in polls

One of the most important new features is the ability to create polls with single vote. This allows the survey creator to limit the number of users' responses to just one, preventing them from choosing more than one response.

To create a single-answer survey, users will have to press the "+" icon on iOS or the paper clip on Android next to the send message button within a conversation, and then uncheck the "Allow multiple replies" option.

Also, the update introduces the functionality of search polls in chats, which allows users to filter messages for polls, like you do for photos, videos or links. This helps users find polls even after some time, and to do so, simply press "Search" on the "Chat" screen, then select "Polls" to get a list with all the results.

Finally, WhatsApp will send notifications when people respond to your surveys, so you don't lose poll results and know how many users have voted.

The other news of the WhatsApp update

WhatsApp has also introduced a new feature regarding theforwarding of multimedia content. Now, when forwarding a photo or video, you can choose whether to keep, delete or rewrite the original caption present in the multimedia content.

This allows you to offer more information when sharing photos between chats. And that's not all: you can now add a caption to your photos and videos when you forward them, even if they didn't have them initially.

Another interesting introduction is the sharing documents with captions. In addition to images and videos, shared documents may also require a brief explanation for the recipient. Thanks to this new feature, you can insert a caption to accompany the shared document.
