Xiaomi has just released a new version of Xiao Ai for smartphones, which is the intelligent assistant of the Chinese company. The update brings four new main features including: a children's “Puff” voice, simultaneous face-to-face interpretation, multiple one-sentence actions and new active prompts.
Xiao AI for smartphones updated with four new very interesting features
In addition, features such as children's speech recognition, voice remote control, Cantonese language support, more advanced children's guide and access to online teaching aids are also being tested. Most of these features are expected to launch in September.
Puff voice for children
But let's go back to the features available from today (in China), starting with the one that adds the “Puff” item. Lei Jun announced in Xiaomi's 10th anniversary speech on August 11 that a new baby voice called “Puff” would be arriving within Xiao AI. Well, after updating the Xiao AI to the latest version you can choose in the tone settings, or more simply you can ask the assistant to “change the tone to the one for children”.
Simultaneous face-to-face interpretation
Xiao Ai translation feature supports voice, text and photo translation. With the new face-to-face simultaneous interpretation feature it will also be possible to speak during the translation, so it will become a real portable interpreter.
Do "N things" in one sentence
Xiao Ai can now do "N things" in one sentence. No matter how many smart devices there are at home, a single command can complete a series of pre-set complex operations, saving you time, effort and worry. So for example we can say “Xiao AI, turn on the light and start the robot vacuum cleaner” and the assistant will perform both actions.
Proactive suggestions
Finally, Xiao Ai has been upgraded from a smart personal assistant to a “smart housekeeper”. This means that it can not only remember daily chores, but also predict your needs and actively suggest smart device control.
For example, if you ask Xiao Ai: "What's the weather like today?" when you are at home, Xiao Ai will go to check if the temperature at home is high and respond by saying, “The temperature in the room is 28 degrees Celsius. Do you want to turn on the air conditioner in the bedroom? ”. So, by constantly monitoring the habits of use of smart devices at home, Xiao Ai will better understand our daily habits, making everything even easier and faster than it already is.
