We know: XIaomi is working on two new flaghsip, namely Xiaomi 12Ultra e Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. The first will be a camera-phone with few rivals as regards the photographic sector, while the second will be proposed as a folding with a completely innovated design. Among other things, some rumors have added several details about both in these hours: let's find out in detail.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra: the top in the photographic field
Let's start with Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which will be added to the series released in recent weeks, composed for the moment by Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X. It is a device dedicated to photography, and from this point of view it will have very few rivals on the market. Thanks to the collaboration with Leica, which offered the Chinese brand all its know-how for the creation of a smartphone that can establish itself as the one to beat in the photo field.
In the meantime, thanks to the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, we learned of a new fundamental detail: the sensor that this smartphone will mount. Reportedly, this is a Sony sensor named IMX989 da 50 MP.
This is the big news, also because of Xiaomi 12 Pro we already know that it should be one of the first devices ever to mount the very powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ by Qualcomm. In addition, it could integrate a battery from 4900 mAh with quick charge from 120w.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 2: the folding will have a completely redesigned hinge
Always Digital Chat Station has disclosed new information regarding the porssimo folding of the Chinese brand, or Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. On Weibo, the well-known leaker said that the device will adopt a new design and new hinges, designed to reduce the fold that the display internal will suffer, in addition to making the opening and closing mechanism of the smartphone easier (with code name Zizhan and marked with the model code 22061218C).
Furthermore, it should be equipped with an AG glass, which will make it thinner and lighter than the previous Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold that came out last year. From the point of view of coloring and aesthetic appearance, this device should look a lot like the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. As for the technical specifications, obviously there are the two displays, but not only. Here are the main elements of the data sheet:
- External display AMOLED da 6,5 " with high refresh rate
- Internal display AMOLED foldable da 8 " with resolution QHD with high refresh rate
- No camera under the display: even on the internal display there will be the hole
- SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+
We don't know much else at the moment, but the hope is that some news may leak in the coming weeks, or that news will come directly from the Chinese brand. Surely the goal is to take a step forward compared to its predecessor and take considerable steps in the folding market, currently dominated by Samsung.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2: when will they be presented?
At the time of writing there are no certainties, but only hypotheses about the release period of Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. According to what has been leaked, it is possible that the two devices are presented simultaneously during a launch event that could be in May. Some are even sure of the date, which is May 10. Availability should start from the following month of June.
In any case, nothing is yet known about the possibility that these two new products could also land in Europe and therefore in the Italian market.
