As scheduled, the new one was presented today Xiaomi 13Ultra, the super flagship that focuses entirely on the photographic sector. So let's find out what upgrades we find on the device.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra official: the super camera phone comes with Leica optics and four 50MP sensors
Let's start with the strong point of the smartphone, the cameras. Xiaomi has chosen to collaborate once again with Leica to perfect the optical system.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra adopts a new generation of Summicon lenses, a new optical lens structure, creating an 8P aspherical lens through a nanoscale process manufacturing capability, professional optical materials, and a new generation of the high-stability coating.
The 13 Ultra features four cameras to achieve full coverage of six focal lengths, fully satisfying the needs of more advanced users.
Among them, the four cameras include a super wide angle with 12mm equivalent focal length, a 23mm main camera (with HyperOIS), a 75mm telephoto (with OIS) and a 120mm super telephoto (with OIS). In other words, we have 0,5X, 1X, 3,2X, 5X zoom, and there are two hidden focal lengths of 2mm 46X zoom and 10mm 240X zoom.
Compared to the up to 3X zoom of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the Mi 13 Ultra should completely surpass Apple in terms of detail.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra also has a large aperture at all focal lengths, which allows for excellent snapshots and night scenes at all focal lengths. The amount of light entering has been significantly increased, especially the double telephoto lens has been improved up to 47%.
As for the sensors, as previously revealed, the 13 Ultra uses a new combination of three Sony IMX858 sensors and one Sony IMX989 sensor. The main camera uses the Sony IMX989 sensor, which is currently the most powerful optical sensor for smartphones and which was already adopted in the previous generation, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
The other cameras use the Sony IMX858 sensor, the most technologically advanced Sony mobile sensor and the only sensor that is on par with IMX989 in terms of functional characteristics. All four sensors have 50MP resolution.
Going to the other specifications, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra adopts one OLED screen from 6,73 inches made of C7 material jointly developed with China Star Optoelectronics. This panel has 2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and 2600nit peak brightness, the highest ever in a smartphone.
As for performance, obviously the new flagship is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, together with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X type RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 type internal memory. To increase performance we also find a third generation VC dissipation system. Furthermore, for the first time, Xiaomi brings the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard to your devices.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is powered by a large battery 5000mAh with support for one 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Other specs aboard the 13 Ultra include NFC, IP68 certification, that is, the smartphone is resistant to both dust and water.

As for the price, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be sold in China at the starting price of 5999 yuan (795 euros) for the version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. While the more premium one with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will cost 7299 yuan (967 euros).
Together with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra it will be possible to buy a "photographer kit” which adds an additional lens that covers the camera module, as well as a socket that fits into the bottom of the device and which integrates a button for taking photos and a lever for zooming.
