We recently witnessed the launch of 4 smartphones belonging to the medium / high facia of the market, coming from Xiaomi and its spinoff companies, such as Redmi, POCO and BlackShark bringing on the market respectively Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Lite 5G, Redmi K30 Pro / K30 Pro Zoom Edition, POCO X2 and BlackShark 3, warmly welcomed by the public but unfortunately everyone missed that WOW effect that was memorable in its time with the launch of the first generation of Mi Mix.
In fact, now the smartphones seem all the same, both in the front and in the rear and often the choices made by companies to "surprise" the user involve significant compromises, as in the case of Redmi K30 Pro, which in offering a very full screen display has opted for a retractable selfie camera via pop up mechanism, a solution that in the future may no longer be adopted due to the too bulky dimensions of this mechanism. So how to impress users who are increasingly looking for full-screen solutions without frames?

Apparently Xiaomi seems to have the solution, or at least this is what emerges from some leaks that show a patent in which all the sensors remain in the current position we are used to (above the display), but the size of the frame where the sensors are located it is definitely reduced, a sort of ghost notch.
Xiaomi patents a new smartphone design that retires the notch
To show us a render of what has just been announced is the well-known designer Ben Geskin who developed his concept to show us the future iPhone 12 and probably taking inspiration from the image of the alleged patent that appeared online. In reality, a slight difference emerges between the concept of Ben Geskin and that of the patent, as in the image of the patent there is an upper frame which adds a slight curvature towards the side of the display as well as the position of the front chamber which appears positioned under the capsule headset.
We reiterate that both images are unofficial and that the one by designer ben Geskin refers to the future iPhone 12 while the one above refers to the Xiaomi patent. With this, however, we take a cue to analyze what awaits us for the future, which could be defined as early as Q3 of 2020, although as with most patents, this new design may never be developed. However, there is no doubt that it is probably one of the most striking and eye-catching designs we have seen from Xiaomi to date.
