Although we have been talking about it for several months, Xiaomi has never confirmed that it is working on a foldable with a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip style shell shape. Well, apparently, the first clue has leaked today that could confirm her possible arrival in the future.
Xiaomi patents its first foldable with clamshell design
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has in fact filed a patent with the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) in these days.
In the images present together with the patent, we can see the smartphone both in its folded state and in its open state. In particular the former shows us that it can be quite compact when in the folded state. We also note that the design of the camera module is not at all similar to that used by Samsung with its foldables, but is instead a horizontal camera module much more similar to the design of the Google Pixel 6.
This raised module appears to house a total of three cameras, although one of these holes could be dedicated to the flash, so a total of two cameras.
Going to the bottom, the images show us that the smartphone has a speaker grille on the side along with the SIM card tray and USB Type C charging port. On the right side, the foldable appears to have the power button and rockers. of the volume.
As for the front camera, none of the images show us the front, so it is impossible to understand which design would be adopted on the Xiaomi flip phone.
