Lei Jun, founder, president and CEO of Xiaomi Group, told the Global Digital Economy Conference that after being selected as one of the top 500 companies in the world in 2019, Xiaomi was also selected this year, ranking 338th in the Fortune 500, therefore an improvement of 84 positions compared to the previous year in which it was positioned at 422nd place. Furthermore, according to the latest IDC report, the global Xiaomi smartphone market share overtook Apple for the first time, and was promoted to second place in the world.

Lei Jun also said that the first phase of Xiaomi's smart factory was put into operation last year, with a fully automated production line and annual production of 1 million high-end smartphones; the second phase of construction began in July of this year and is expected to go into production at the end of next year, for an annual production of 10 million high-end smartphones.
Last year, the Xiaomi Smart Factory, known as the “Black Light Factory”, was presented. Most of the work is done by intelligent machines. It runs 24 hours a day and can produce thousands of high-end mobile phones a day, representing the highest level of intelligent manufacturing today.
In May of this year, Lei Jun stated that Xiaomi is building the second phase of its smart factory, which will produce 10 million high-end smartphones per year, with an output value of between 50 and 60 billion yuan. and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
On the morning of July 14, the second phase of the Xiaomi Smart Factory officially began in the Changping district, in Beijing. Covering an area of 58.300 square meters, it will land on the second generation smartphone production line which includes SMT patching, board testing, assembly, machine testing and finished product packaging.
Compared with the first phase of the Beijing Yizhuang factory, the production capacity of the second phase has increased by 10 times.
