Xiaomi Mi 8 SE: a top of the range snubbed by many but for everyone

In these hours, after the official presentation in Shenzen by Xiaomi, the various blogs and YouTuber of the tech sector were unleashed, which concentrated their efforts on the top of the range. Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer, the latter equipped with Face ID 3D and fingerprint sensor integrated into the display. But Xiaomi has dedicated to its users also a third variant, named Mi 8 SE that boasts the title of being the first smartphone to be equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor.

But Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is for everyone, in fact it is proposed to the launch price of 1799 yuan, equivalent to about 240 euros. This does not mean that we can enjoy one AMOLED screen provided by Samsung from 5,88 diagonal inches embedded in a body by 5,2 ". 18,7: 9 form factor with Full HD + 2244 x 1080 pixel resolution, 423 PPI, 600 nits of brightness and contrast of 60000: 1. We can therefore enjoy a luminous panel, bright colors but with reduced energy consumption, which therefore will not affect the battery life integrated by 3120 mAh.

Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is the first smartphone to be equipped with the Snapdragon 710 CPU which, like the top of the range, 845 SD has a construction process at 10nm with 8 core architecture. Processor optimized for all games with a high demand for graphic performance, but also for the revolutionary AI technology.

Adopting the Snapdragon 710 processor is tantamount to saying you get one clock frequency up to 2,2 GHz with an increase of about 20% compared to the previous generation (SD 660), GPU clock frequency up to 25% higher than the previous 500 MHz generation,  score in the AnTuTu test increased by 22%  and AI processing power doubled. AI technology that we can also find in the photographic sector, a dual module from 12 + 5 megapixel with bokeh effect like a SLR. Pixel surface from 1.4 nm, ie brighter photos, focusing Dual PDAF, opening f / 1.9, EIS video stabilization and identification of scenarios up to 206 types, in order to automatically adopt the best shooting parameters. So on Xiaomi Mi 8 SE we find the great photographic sector seen on Redmi Note 5 but improved further thanks to advanced AI software. Finally it will be possible to acquire video in 4K to 30 fps but also slow motion up to 240 fps in HD quality 720p or 120 fps in Full HD quality.

But Xiaomi Mi 8 SE aims even more on portraits selfie mode obtained from 20 megapixel optics with pixel surface by well 2cnm, AI technology, portrait mode and new Quick Beauty 4.0 software. Moreover we can not fail to underline the extreme beauty of this device that will be proposed in 4 color variants, such as black, blue, red and pearl white. There is also a power steering given by one RAM of type LPDDR4X with cuts from 4 or 6 GB while the mass archive will only be in the measure of 64 GB of type eMMC 5.1.

Dimensions equal to 147,28 x 73,09 x 7,5 mm and a weight of 164 grams make it possible to integrate a 3120 mAh battery with quick charge support according to the 3.0 Quick Charge standard from 18W rechargeable via the USB Type-C port which also carries the audio stream via the supplied 3,5 mm jack adapter. Finally, there is no lack of Dual SIM support but unfortunately absent the 20 band, while at the level of connectivity we find Dual band WiFi 2 × 2 MIMO technology, Bluetooth 5.0 and of course GPS and fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. As you can see it is present the notch, but in this case it is purely at an aesthetic level because we do not find particular functions related to it which however can be hidden via software.
