Xiaomi Mi A1 receives the February 2018 security patch

The first smartphone without the MIUI interface and running Android One, practically pure Android Stock, lo Xiaomi Mi A1 after an unhappy update period, now receives the February security patch. It will be possible to proceed to update through OTA, but do not despair if you have not yet received notification of the update as this is only available from Friday and so it may take a few days before the actual release globally becomes reality. The software package has a weight of about 87 MB and does not seem to introduce other features, though minor non-mentioning corrections and optimizations could be included in the official change log. In fact, Xiaomi with the distribution of Android Oreo 8.0 has promised to solve some problems introduced with the update, but currently there are no feebacks from users who received the new firmware, such as the battery drain and the instability of the camera .

Presented last September, the Mi A1 represents the first experiment by Xiaomi in the Android One ecosystem, in the search for a success obtained in the past by Nexus devices. At the moment it is not clear if the Chinese company is willing to continue this project planning a successor to the A1 Mi with presentation by the end of the year, although rumors indicate that Xiaomi is following this path. In any case it could be one good way to expand your domain even on territories outside Chinajust like some competitors such as HMD Global are about to release three new Android One devices, namely Nokia 6, Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 Sirocco appeared at the newly concluded MWC 2018.

XIAOMI COULD ABANDON THE ANDROID ONE PROJECT AND EMBRACE THAT OF ANDROID GO

In addition to Android One, Google is pushing another mobile OS program that bears the name of Android Go with the aim of allowing entry-level devices to run the latest version of its platform, combined with applications optimized for the purpose. Android Go targets phones with no more than 1 GB of RAM sold in developing markets, but although Xiaomi has not yet adopted this new project, it is not excluded that it intends to do so as the queen of device entry level.
