The collaboration between Huami and Xiaomi strikes again and hits the mark! Yes, because the official presentation of the new one ended in China a few minutes ago Xiaomi Mi Band 5, the latest smartband born from the union of the two companies. As we know in fact Huami it has lent itself since the first edition for the production of this jewel that has always satisfied (always?) all users. If until now there were only speculations about its features, here it is now all official. Compared to what we knew there are variations though: not all announced features are present.
Without doubt the new queen of smartbands will be Xiaomi Mi Band 5: renewed in everything brings us (almost) everything we wanted
Renewed almost entirely because in reality at first glance the egg remains that, same shape and same design. At a closer look, however, we note that it is the details that change. Let's see together what are the news and soon a mega comparison with the previous Mi Band 4. First of all the changes, as we already knew, but comes to one size of 1.1 ″ and not 1.2 ″: the resolution is 126 294 pixels x. In addition, the digital button located at the bottom of the egg has a semi circular shape and clearly the display is type AMOLED. The measurements are of 47.2 x 18.5 x 12.4 mm for a total weight of 12.1 g, 19 g for the model without NFC.
Let's move on to the features, which are the thing that everyone is interested in. Unfortunately we do not find the SP02 functionality, the one that allows you to control the oxygenation of the blood: the leaks we received until a few days ago were found poco reliable. It is not excluded, however, that this novelty will make the debut later via an update. To compensate for this lack we find:
- possibility to command theshutter the camera of our smartphone remotely;
- more than 100 static and animated themes with which to customize the Mi Band 5;
- PAI functionality that we have previously described;
- monitoring of the heartbeat;
- monitoring of the respite 24 hours a day;
- control of period and ovulation for women;
- interesting REM mode which allows you to have eye movement under control at night and understand how many times you have woken up;
- resistance to 5 ATM or 50 meters deep;
- as many as 11 sport modes: treadmill, free exercise, outdoor running, cycling, walking, swimming, yoga, rowing machine, jump rope, indoor and elliptical cycling;
- magnetic charging: the battery promises 14 days of autonomy (even if we know it will be more) thanks to the 125 mAh. Full charge lasts approx 2 hours;
- Bluetooth 5.0;
- splash resistance thanks to certification IP68.
- digital assistant e two versions one with and one without NFC.
Clearly all the features listed above refer to the Chinese version. We still don't know if in Europe the two versions will be marketed, with and without NFC, or just one. It will also change the voice assistant that will not be XiaoAI but Amazon Alexa according to the leaks.
Price
Prices obviously vary from model to model: the variant without NFC costs at the current exchange rate € 23 while that equipped with NFC costs at the current exchange rate € 28. As far as we know, the version equipped with chip for contactless payments could come from us to a price poco less than € 40.
nb: In the official website that you find in the source there are other very interesting information: it seems that the microphone to wake up the voice assistant will be present only on the version with NFC and the same thing applies to the heart rate monitor.
