The blogger "Digital Station" broke the news that Xiaomi's 40W wireless fast charging will be commercially available this year.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 could arrive with 40W wireless charging
Xiaomi had previously shown an ultra fast wireless charge with precisely 40W power in combination with a battery with a capacity of 4000mAh. That charging technology allowed to recharge the smartphone by about 57% in just 20 minutes (2280mAh), while for a full charge it took only 40 minutes.
Following the news of the release of 40W charging, several Chinese users then speculated that the next Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 could be launched with the new ultra-fast wireless charging technology.
At the moment, the new Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, both support 30W wireless fast charging. If we take them as an example, we have the Xiaomi Mi 10 with a 4780mAh battery and 30W wireless charging that can be recharged by 53% in 30 minutes, while to get to 100% it takes 69 minutes.
Being the current flagship product of Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 wireless charging solution should start from at least 30W. If instead a 40W wireless charger was marketed, it is almost certain that the first device to adopt it is the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4, or the next flagship in chronological order.
It is worth noting that since the presentation of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, the only other device in the series to see sunlight has been the I MIX Alpha, which as you well know is more a concept phone than a device dedicated to the masses and which in fact never went on sale.
In addition, the Mi MIX 4 series could see the presence of two versions, the basic one and the Pro one, as for Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Now we do not know when it will be launched, but the Chinese media suggest a debut in the second half of 2020 .
