Well, apparently Xiaomi seems willing to stay on the high end with its next TV too. The latest news coming from China suggests that the brand is close to bringing two large TVs, namely 82-inch, which should also be equipped with 4K and 8K resolutions.
According to the Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station, the two TVs have just been certified by the 3C body. In the certificate we discover that both use 82-inch LGD screens and are manufactured by Xinpu (Guangzhou) Electronics Co. The model numbers are L82M6-8K, L82M6-4K, so the first will have 8K resolution while the second will "settle" for that. 4K.
Currently, Xiaomi TVs use a maximum resolution of 4K (3840 × 2160) and a maximum diagonal of 98 inches with the Redmi TV Max released a few months ago. As mentioned earlier, the brand has also focused on the higher price range, releasing the My TV LUX with transparent display. While the next high-end TV should be all about 8K resolution, with the price still an unknown, but we expect a middle ground between the Redmi TV Max (19999 yuan) and the Mi TV LUX (49999 yuan), therefore about 30000 yuan (3600 €).
In any case, Xiaomi is almost forced by brands like Samsung, LG, TCL, Skyworth, Hisense and Haier who have all already launched 8K resolution TVs. As we all know, according to data from Aowei Cloud Network, Xiaomi TV shipments are in first place in China, first place maintained for six consecutive quarters. So Xiaomi cannot afford to lag behind from that point of view, although most likely its success is more due to the excellent specific price ratio, than to the absolute quality of its TVs.
