In August of last year, Xiaomi launched the Mijia LCD Blackboard on its Youpin crowdfunding platform, offering 10-inch and 13,5-inch versions with retail prices of 49/99 yuan (6/12 €) respectively. A few months ago a slightly larger and more advanced version of the brand was released Xiaoxun with a diagonal of 16 inches with a price of 199 Yuan (25 €).
Xiaomi Mijia LCD Blackboard 20 ″: The Extra Large but economical electronic whiteboard arrives
Well, apparently the brand seems to suffer from delusions of grandeur, literally, by introducing an even bigger electronic whiteboard. The new Xiaomi Mijia LCD Blackboard 20 ″ will in fact now be available with a diagonal of 20 inches. The blackboard will go into crowdfunding starting from 2 September at the price of 129 Yuan (15 €), while the retail price will be 149 Yuan (18 €).
The Xiaomi Mijia LCD Blackboard 20 ″ adopts a custom formula with liquid crystal film, blue-green handwriting, for a very detailed display that brings a writing experience similar to traditional paper.
Thanks to the highly sensitive pressure technology and the fluid and flexible LCD screen, the thickness of the writing varies according to the pressure; the higher the pressure, the thicker the writing, and vice versa. You can also use your fingertips or other objects to write or draw on the screen.
In any case, this type of LCD screen has almost zero power consumption and consumes a small amount of energy only when the screen is cleaned. According to official data, it is possible to use two thin button cell batteries for 365 days if it is cleaned 100 times a day.
The board also comes with a stylus whose tip is made of a crystalline thermoplastic polymer known as “super steel”, with a smooth surface, hard texture and excellent wear resistance. The pen weighs only 7g and has a special design to avoid fatigue and write / draw longer. However, a silicone pen holder is provided to securely store the stylus with magnetic attachment.
Finally, it can be fixed to the wall thanks to double-sided adhesive tape with very resistant nano glue but which does not leave the wall dirty once removed.
