Xiaomi has just launched the new Mijia Smart Steam Oven on its Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform. The smart oven is priced at only 269 yuan (34 euros) during the crowdfunding campaign, a price that will rise to 299 yuan, or 38 euros, once finished.

Mijia's electric oven comes with a volume of 12 liters and a unique 5ml steaming function that can make food crunchy while keeping the interior soft and tender. At the same time, it also has functions such as precise electronic temperature control and smart connection with the app.
Although the capacity is only 12 liters, the power of this oven reaches up to 1300W. Typically the power of a 32-liter electric oven is only 1600W, so if we were to calculate the power per liter, the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Steam Oven 12L could reach a power almost doubled compared to traditional electric ovens.
In any case, Mijia's smart steam oven is equipped with an NTC electronic temperature probe and an intelligent electronic temperature control system that supports regulation of only 1 degree centigrade in an ultra-fast way.
Xiaomi also claims that this oven is great for toasting bread. As we know, storing slices of toast is not that easy, they dry out very quickly and become difficult to eat. To solve the situation, many use a toaster or an electric oven, the heated toast becomes crispier, but is still a little softer than freshly baked toast.
According to Xiaomi, the Mijia Smart Steam Oven is the optimal solution in these circumstances. The steam oven is in fact equipped with a steam tank that can replenish the water during heating, so that the outside of the toast is crunchy, while the inside remains as soft and good as when freshly toasted.
