Xiaomi has just officially announced the new Mijia Smart Steaming Oven which will start its crowdfunding campaign on the Xiaomi Mall at 10am on August 26th. The selling price of the appliance will be 1499 yuan; while during the campaign you can buy it for 1299 yuan, about 160 euros at the current exchange rate.

The Mijia Smart Steaming Oven is, as the most practical in English will already have guessed, an intelligent oven with a steaming function. The oven comes with the slogan "A delicious new product" and a volume of 30L, therefore relatively large, together with a variety of cooking options for, including: steaming in 30 seconds, breakfast, lunch, dinner, family food etc ..
In any case, it is an electric table oven with the typical design of Mijia products, that is completely white and a very clean and refined look. On the front we find a door with glass to always check the cooking status of the food inside. Furthermore, the lighting looks pretty good at least from what we see in the posters, even if most likely they are heavily retouched images.
Also in front of the top right corner we find a knob to set different cooking modes. The knob that we can see closely in the image above includes six cooking methods which include “pure” steaming, steaming, slow stewing, baking, air frying and fermentation. So, for example, to cook tender and juicy grilled chicken, 35 minutes are enough to steam and roast it.
As previously mentioned, the Mijia Smart Steaming Oven will go in crowdfunding on August 26 at 1299 Yuan (160 €). Although this may seem a not too cheap price for a Xiaomi product, it must be considered that this type of all-in-one product for steaming has a market price generally higher than 2500 yuan (300 €) in China. So it will still be a good deal.
