To find out, the website specializing in photography and displays DxOMark subjected the device to a series of rigorous tests, evaluating it on six criteria: readability, color, video, motion, touch and artifacts. The result is a overall score of 139, which places it in 28th place in the global ranking and 22nd in the ultra-premium ranking.
The main display of the MIX Fold 3 has a resolution of 1916 x 2160 pixels, a pixel density of approximately 360 ppi and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel is of the POL-LESS Plus LTPO type, which means that it does not have a polarizing film and that it can dynamically vary the refresh rate based on the content displayed, saving energy. The display also has an anti-glare film that reduces reflected brightness and makes the screen crease less visible.
Among the strengths of the MIX Fold 3 main display, DxOMark highlighted the low reflectance, which improves readability in all environments and makes screen crease less noticeable. The display also has a good performance in both color and brightness when viewed from different angles, maintaining good color fidelity and good visibility. Furthermore, the display does not experience frame drops when playing video games, ensuring good fluidity.
Among the weak points of the MIX Fold 3's main display, DxOMark reported the lack of brightness and detail when watching HDR10 videos, which are dark and poco contrasted. The display also has a unnatural rendering of skin tones under sunlight, which appear too red or yellow. Finally, the display has a low touch precision at the edges and corners of the screen, where it often doesn't respond to long touches or gestures.
