That Xiaomi would have launched a 4K monitor we had anticipated it a few days ago. We had said this device would be the first (of a long series) monitor with this resolution for the Chinese company. Yesterday and today the giant officially presented it, also accompanying it with another Redmi monitor. The first has a resolution 4K as we said, the other 2K. However, even for Redmi it is the best monitor ever made. Let's go through the details of both, including the release prices.
Xiaomi presents its first monitor with 4K resolution while Redmi the best it has ever made: the first has a display that rotates!
Xiaomi's new monitor comes with a IPS display from 27 ″ with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors with a maximum brightness of 400 nits. The display is certified Pantone and shows 99% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB color space with Delta E <1 color accuracy. We find a dedicated physical button to switch between professional modes for different work scenarios such as computer graphics, CAD and others. Thanks to the 4K resolution this Xiaomi monitor is at the top of the monitor catalog for image quality.
The monitor supports VESA DisplayHDR 400 HDR e DC Dimming. It can be adjusted in height, tilted, used vertically and even mounted on the wall. This is one of the most interesting features: the display can rotate to be placed "vertically". As for the ports, the Xiaomi monitor comes with two HDMI 2.1, one DP 1.4, and one USB Type-C. This allows data transfer and the charging up to 90W. There are also two USB Type-A inputs and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. All cables are hidden inside the rear tube.
The price of the Xiaomi 4K monitor is €485 at the current exchange rate.
We then move on to Redmi Monitor Pro. He too is characterized by a IPS display from 27 ″ but it differs both externally and in hardware characteristics. It has a 2560 x 1440 pixel screen capable of displaying 16.7 millions of colors with a maximum brightness of 300 nits. The company claims that the Redmi Monitor Pro features 100% sRGB color coverage and technology for the reduction of flicker.
Like its Xiaomi counterpart, the Redmi Monitor Pro can also be height-adjusted, tilted, used in portrait orientation and mounted on the wall. As for the ports, we will find only an HDMI 1.4, a DP 1.2 and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
As for the price of Redmi Monitor Pro we are a €220 at the current exchange rate.
