Xiaomi and Nokia joined for strategic collaboration

Often it is said that opposites are attracted to and so is also for Nokia and Xiaomi which although seems to have nothing in common, the two manufacturers have decided to collaborate together. Nokia is experiencing a second life and has decided to focus on Xiaomi famous for its rapid growth in the smartphone market and its affiliates.

Nokia is charging good results in the US market and Xiaomi could exploit this as a launch pad widening its market basin. The details of the collaboration agreement signed yesterday by the two companies that could also collaborate on the current diversification of income implemented by Xiaomi have not yet been leaked.

A first reliable rumors would see the collaboration of the two brands about Nokia's adoption of the CPU produced by Xiaomi in its mid-range smartphones, the chipset Surge S1 currently used only in the Mi 5C smartphone.

 

We remind you that the Surge S1 CPU adopts one 28 nm technology and is considered the rival principal the Snapdragon 625, MediaTek Helio P20 and Huawei's Kirin 655. The S1 Surge is a 64 bit octacore clock with clock up to 2.2 Ghz and is supported by a Mali T860 GPU. It also stands out for reduced energy consumption of 40% compared to competitors.

Xiaomi is now known he is working on new Surge S2 processor which will instead adopt a 16 nm technology this collaboration could also be targeted at the development of the proprietary chipset.
