Despite Xiaomi has launched several highly innovative smartphones, such as the first Xiaomi Mi MIX and the latest Mi MIX Alpha, the Chinese company has never wanted to try its hand in the production of devices with displays having resolutions above 2K. This has sometimes been seen as the Achilles' heel of several flagships, although in reality in recent years the trend of QHD + displays started by Samsung has somewhat gone into the background.
Xiaomi Otix Phone caught on GeekBench with a QHD + 21: 9 screen
In any case, Xiaomi would seem to have changed its mind and would be working on the launch of a new device with a QHD + display. This device has just been caught on the famous GeekBench benchmark platform, with the model name "otix Phone30 (EEA)". Also from the screenshot of the benchmark, we note the presence of the Qualcomm flagship processor, the Snapdragon 865 and the latest Google operating system, Android 10.
But it does not end here, because another image, this time from the HW Device Info app, shows us more specifications. In particular we see that the smartphone will adopt a screen with a resolution of 3840 × 1644, this means that we are in front of a 4K display with an aspect ratio of 21: 9. So the same that we saw on the Sony Xperia flagships.
In addition, among the many specifications we note the presence of 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, in line with other Xiaomi flagships equipped with a similar amount of RAM.
In any case, this elusive Xiaomi Otix Phone had appeared a few months ago, but it was thought to be the code name for the next Xiaomi Mi MIX4. Today the Chinese media instead suggest that it is a device that is part of a new series, if not even a new brand, such as the Xiaomi Redmi brand.
