Xiaomi thinks of an AI-equipped robot that responds to voice commands

Every day we hear about patents or Xiaomi products that make us smile since nice or really weird. But what we are going to offer you today has the incredible and the fiction. You read correctly in the title: we will talk about a robot in style Super 3 pin or in style Dalek for those who prefer an underlay to Doctor Who. But regardless of these imaginative things, Xiaomi has in mind to produce, at a certain moment, a robot able to speak with us and respond to voice commands thanks to the use ofartificial intelligence.

A patent shows Xiaomi's intention to produce a robot capable of obeying our commands via voice input

The patent we are talking about comes from the database incoPat where some patents from China are filed. Let's see the images to better understand what it is.

xiaomi robot artificial intelligence

This device that we could trivially define Xiaomi Robot, it's a hybrid between a Roborock and a rubbish bin. Irony aside, the shape suggested by the brand is the one you see in the photograph above. On the cover, instead, you will find a detail of how it is done at the bottom. Let's start right here: we see on the right one pair of wheels attached to a rotating support while on the left two more massive wheels but fixed in half inside the body. The former are clearly those that allow the robot to move in multiple directions while the latter are the tractors. In the figure above there is a sort of cartoon in which a voice (left) commands the robot to "tell the father that he is ready to eat"; Xiaomi Robot answers in the affirmative.

We can therefore guess that the smart device is equipped with a very very advanced artificial intelligence. We are sure it is XiaoAI and we explain why.

In this image we see the silhouette of the man calling theXiaomi voice assistant (小 爱 同学 Xiaoai tongxue) and therefore there is no doubt that it is the Chinese Alexa. After the call, the robot answers with "I'm coming": This makes us understand how this type of AI is in an advanced stage; this means that such a product is unlikely to be born quickly. We know how robotics is evolving at a fast speed but, as we also see for wireless charging technology, not all phone brands can access the same technologies at the same time.

What do you think of this project? Do you think it will see the light?
