Xiaomi is one of those companies whose field of action spans 360 ° in technology, not limited to just the production of smartphones but rather to a whole series of products that over time have constituted a true ecosystem, composed of appliances and gadgets of all sorts and gender. Among the most profitable sectors of the Chinese brand we also find the one related to smart TVs which over the course of two years has seen a lineup grow with polliciaggio for all budgets and finances.
But until now Xiaomi's Mi TVs have struggled in the European market, probably also due to the use of an AOSP version of Android on which the PatchWall customized interface is installed, of sure impact and functional but poco structured for the western market, effectively hijacking the choice of UI on Android TV, a system more suitable for markets across the border.

But not all users were able to benefit from this update, as the owners of the 55-inch models still seem to belong to the PatchWall system instead of Android TV. However, things are about to change: in fact, an Indian user has tried to contact Xiaomi's Indian assistance service, asking questions about a possible update to Android TV. The technician who replied confirmed, as you can read in the image below, that the development team is working to bring Android TV on the 4-inch Mi TV 55.
Recall that thanks to Android TV it will be possible to simplify the installation of applications, given the presence of the Play Store. Also noteworthy is the presence of widely used apps such as YouTube and Google Assistant, as well as support for Chromecast.
