Xiaomi undergoes the first sales collapse in China

Although Xiaomi is seen as one of the companies that has the most constant growth in the technology sector, it too must face a reality that sees it in competition with super fierce producers who do everything to gain percentage points of market share in its comparisons.

Sales data in the Q2 2016 are perhaps the most negative in terms of percentage that Xiaomi has ever had. Indeed, in the market research conducted by IDC, the Chinese giant would have had a decrease in 38,4% in sales compared to the 2 Q2015 (10,5 million smartphones against the 17,1 million). This is made even worse by the fact that general smartphone market grew by 4,6% (data refer to the Chinese market only).

At this point Xiaomi is the fourth Chinese power (in the smartphone sector), which is absolutely negative considering that Q2 2015 was in the lead. On the net you think that part of this breakthrough is not directly linked to Xiaomi's strategy but to competition for physical stores.

Companies like Oppo, Vivo and Huawei have begun to sell their smartphones massively even physically, through stores around China. It is clear that in this way they can capture a much higher audience.

This was not a problem for Xiaomi but a merit of competition (but as a result of Xiaomi's demeanor). What do you think of all this?
