Xiaomi is working on a global rethink of its brand and after renaming Xiaomi Hongmi in Redmi is now on the corporate site, whose name is simply simplified in Mi.com.
Xiaomi currently distributes its phones in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and will enter other countries this year (maybe even in India). These steps in the overall expansion of the Beijing phone maker are accompanied by the efforts of the same person to rename the phones made (such as the Hongmi in Redmi) in an attempt to "globalize" them and prepare them for other markets.
Today, it is announced that the main site Xiaomi.com, where the main store and the English store are hosted, will be simply renamed to Mi.com. Mi (MI stands for Mobile Internet) is the name that will probably be more easily recognizable abroad thanks to the familiar orange logo stamped on all Xiaomi smartphones.
We hope that Xiaomi's global expansion march will continue fast so that we can soon reach our country.
