This year the Gionee company is playing all out and so after a long time in which we have not heard of this Chinese brand, the last few hours have been full of news related to the OEM in question, considering the debut of the K3 Pro and Max smartphones, cheap devices without great demands on hardware, software and users. On the other hand, the Gionee M30 is on the other hand, making its debut on the JD.com platform, which instead shows a gritty character both in terms of specifications and design, thanks to a back cover with leatherette inserts and a monstrous battery of 10000 mAh. .
Square shapes, taken from the rugged phone cousins, but with a decidedly more elegant and sporty design thanks to the back cover made of imitation leather. On the front instead we can admire a 6-inch display but unfortunately with only HD + resolution (1440 x 720 pixels) characterized by a notch in which an 8 MP selfie camera is housed as well as an earphone and sensor capsule.

Returning to the rear, Gionee M30 offers a single 16 MP camera which is accompanied by an LED flash and a fingerprint reader recognizable by a circular ring in red color. The leatherette shell covers a mixed body of metal and aluminum measuring 160.6 x 75.8 x 8.4 mm for a weight of 305 grams.
The MediaTek Helio P30 SoC, supported by 60 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, gives some movement to the Gionee M128. As anticipated, the highlight is represented by the battery, which offers an immense capacity of 10000 mAh, with support for fast charging from 25W and the possibility of using reverse charging. There is an encryption chip, while no mention is made of the Android version, which unfortunately should correspond to the now outdated Nougat.
For the Gionee M30 it will take 1399 yuan, or 171 euros at the current exchange rate only for the variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, in black color. In short, if Gionee was trying to get back on the crest of the wave, I would say that now what remains is only the foam.
