As already revealed, yesterday Xiaomi presented one new video surveillance camera which places special attention to the night vision, as the images will be captured in 18 Gray variants means six infrared light sensors at 940 nm with maximum resolution in Full HD.
The new security camera bears the name of Smart 1080p PTZ and is added to the growing list of products on the Mijia platform. Smart 1080p PTZ measures 127,5 x 60 x 60 mm, a weight of 249 grams and it supports both Android systems from 4.0 and above, that iOS from the 8.0 version up.
The camera uses WiFi technology at 2.4 GHz and also offers the possibility of insert micro SD cards or USB flash drives up to 32 GB. The design is very square and it is possible rotate the Smart 1080p PTZ on herself of 360 degrees through a circular base that can also be inclined by 93 degrees on the vertical axis.
The viewing angle is of 120% with an opening f / 2.3. As the name suggests the room is PTZ type ideal to control children or pets so entertain conversations at a distance, as it is able to play sounds with volume of 87 db and to pick up voices up to 10 meters away. To be clear, the remote controlled cameras also define PTZ, which stands for PAN / TILT / ZOOM. PAN is the movement in horizontal (right / left), TILT the movement in vertical (up / down) and ZOOM the focal length control of the lens.
Finally, the new Smart 1080p PTZ it can also be used as a webcam using the proprietary application and you can also set the saving video / images directly on a cloud or on a NAS connected to the camera. All this is really interesting but it is even more the price as the new Smart 1080p PTZ camera costs only 149 yuan equals about 19 euro with start shipping from September 12.
But the surprises do not end here as Xiaomi and Mijia today presented an additional model of video surveillance camera even cheaper. In this case the room has one fixed but flexible base always guaranteeing a viewing angle of 120 degrees, night vision by IR sensor and motion detection. It is possible to place the small IP camera everywhere and position thanks to a weight of only 65 grams and an adhesive support under the circular base.
The resolution of recorded images goes down to HD level and in case of necessity you can also connect a powerbank to power the room surveillance. There is also support for micro SD cards to store and review captured videos. The price will be of only 79 Yuan equal to about 10 Euro but it is unclear whether the shipment will be in line with the above model.
hopefully they do not make the same mistake made with the latest versions of the XiaoFeng Smart Camera, the cubic one to be clear. The latest firmware and latest models sold are not working outside of China. They are installed and paired with the Mi Home APP but they do not work, in the sense that they cannot be controlled remotely and a nice message appears on the app "You cannot use this product outside of China".
