Obviously the 28 conference to which KJuma refers is the one that will be held at the Beijing National Convention Center just the 28 February for the release of the new processor of the company Pinecone. The speculations about the identity of these new smartphones that Xiaomi could present on this occasion, with the Xiaomi Meri, have been sparked by many as Xiaomi Mi 5C, favored among other users' hypotheses. Update: an hour ago KJuma again gave further details on the smartphones that Xiaomi will presumably present next week. It would be a RedMi series device equipped with a Snapdragon 430 SoC, photos of which have recently been released on the Chinese national certifying body, and a mobile phone with an SD625 processor.
So it seems that this time we will not see the highly anticipated Xiaomi Meri, even if the terminal's SD625 chip is unknown.
