About a week ago we anticipated it and today it has become a reality, we are talking about the new Amazfit X, one of the most innovative smart bands ever produced by the Huami brand, a subsidiary of Xiaomi that we know for the production of the various Mi Bands and many other wearables .

Returning to the Amazfit X, as you have already noticed from the images, it is a device quite different from those currently on the market. Thanks to its 2,07-inch diagonal curved AMOLED display, the smart band is able to show much more information at the same time without having to swipe up or down.
Going into detail, the display adopts an HD resolution with a PPI (pixel per inch ratio) of 326 and a maximum brightness of 400 nits; so we should find a clear and bright screen even in direct sunlight. Furthermore, being a curved display, the device adapts perfectly to the shape of the wrist in any situation. In particular, we have a curvature of 92 degrees made with a glass that is brought to the temperature of 700 degrees centigrade and a six-phase folding process. As if that were not enough, the battery is also curved (obviously not hot) to bring comfort never seen before on a wearable.
Speaking of battery, this offers 7 days of battery life without sacrificing features such as (professional-level) heart rate monitoring, message and call notifications 24 hours a day, as well as monitoring weekly workouts.
The Amazfit X then adopts a minimal design that completely eliminates all physical buttons (and therefore also the crowns). Instead, we find a pressure sensor that allows us to navigate the interface with ease.
As for functionality, as previously mentioned, the wearable can measure your heart rate 24 hours a day, everything is done in a more precise way than ever thanks to a larger sensor. We also have two of the best geo-tracking systems in the world: GPS and GLONASS. This means that if one system has trouble finding the location, the other will be ready to help us. Furthermore, this means that you can rest easy even when traveling abroad, knowing that both satellite systems are always available. Obviously thanks to the GPS it will be possible to run by displaying the path traveled, the speed and the distance traveled also in real time.
But running isn't the only sport we can monitor. In fact, we find a total of 9 sport modes that include indoor running, outdoor running, swimming in the pool, swimming in the sea, outdoor bikes, indoor bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainer and even the simple walk.
It goes without saying, that if it can be used in the pool or at sea, the smart band is waterproof. Specifically, we have a water resistance of up to 5 ATM, equivalent to 50 meters under water. However, Amazfit points out that the steam is not as benevolent and therefore recommends removing it when taking a shower or in the sauna.
Turning to the "health" side, the new wearable uses all the data collected to calculate the longevity and health values. Thanks to the "PAI" (Personal Activity Intelligence) it therefore provides easy-to-understand assessments, helping us to choose and then obtain our fitness goals. Over time, Amazfit X will also help us increase our score, with the aim of leading us to an increasingly healthy and active lifestyle. Also in this regard we find an infrared sensor to measure oxygen levels in the blood.
The Amazfit X is then able to follow the 4 sleep phases: light sleep (phases 1 and 2), deep sleep and REM. By monitoring 24 hours a day, 24 days a week, to then produce accurate and in-depth data that help us understand and improve how we sleep. The same goes for stress, which is monitored and divided into four states: relaxed, normal, medium and high. When we approach the latter (high), the device will warn us with a notification.
Finally, as regards the aesthetic side, there will be plenty of customizable watch faces, with a minimum of 40 options from the beginning. We also have two colors of the case and strap: Eclipse Black and New Moon Gold.
The Amazfit X is now in the crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo at the starting price of 137 euros for a unit, if instead if you want two you will have to pay 274 euros. A "IGG Special" version is also available but at the moment it is unclear what the differences are. Shipments are expected to begin in August of this year.
