There are "system requirements" for Android 12: here are what

After release of Android 12, Google released a Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) for the new version of the operating system. This includes a sort of updated ranking of smartphones, which clarifies the list of requirements for the use of all functions of the operating system. This means that every company must follow these guidelines if they want to have their smartphones updated to the latest operating system.

Android 12 provides some sort of "system requirements" to run on smartphones. Here is Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) for the OS

The document states that smartphones belonging to performance classes 11 (R, high) and 12 (S, high) must have a main camera of at least 12 megapixel with support for video recording in 4K and 30 fps. For the selfie module, the requirements are as follows: a sensor with a resolution of 5 megapixel and support for 1080p video at 30 fps. At the same time, for performance class 11, a front sensor from 4 megapixel.

The screen resolution of devices belonging to both classes must be at least 1080p with a pixel density of 400 dpi and the amount of RAM of 6 GB or more. The classifier for Android 12 also indicates the minimum requirements for sequential and random read / write speed.

In addition, for smartphones and tablets in performance classes 11 and 12, developers must apply the indicators of the microphone and camera while using applications. Another requirement concerns the fingerprint scanner area of the secondary screen - this shouldn't interfere with the three-button navigation.
