It was early April when we talked about the last timeGoogle's Phone app, the one that all users will now have to use. A lot of criticism has arisen about the change of "management", especially after the Xiaomi users have the MIUI Dialer disappear. This in fact allowed to record calls at a good quality. In any case, the Big G application is making progress and apparently it is updating itself with some really interesting features. Today it is the case ofCaller ID.
The Google Phone app or (Google Phone) is finally updated with the caller ID: this is how the new feature being released works
According to reports from XDA Developers, the Caller ID feature is coming to the Google Phone application in the stable version. Consequently, all users who use it should soon receive an update (either on the server side or via the Play Store). TO last September, the caller ID feature first appeared in an application teardown but now appears to be available. In the screenshots below we see how it looks and what can it do.
the caller ID feature in the Google app appears as a new call setting Announce Caller ID. This setting was previously hidden in the section Advanced from the menu Settings app, but has been moved to the page Settings main in the final version. By tapping the setting a new page opens with a single option called "Announce Caller ID".
Once enabled, the function will announce the caller's name or phone number for incoming calls. This will help users quickly decide whether they want to answer an incoming call or not without looking at your smartphone. This is not a fundamental update, but it is quite useful for those users who, for example, have visual difficulties and they need a vocal "announcer".
We don't know when the Caller ID feature will reach all smartphones, but considering that the release, it won't take long.
