Anyone who uses smart home products will surely know Aqara. It is a branch of Xiaomi if you want, one of the so-called sub-brand. In essence, the Chinese giant has invested in this brand of which it has become a participant. Few of the company's products are officially available in Europe but today, finally, three new products are debuting outside China. Specifically, the Russia it is the first country outside the Chinese mainland to receive them. It is about two hubs and a smart lock. Let's see the details.
Aqara presented three new products for smart home and home automation in Russia: these are two hubs (M1S and M2) and a smart lock (N100)
The brand Aqara presented on the Russian market an updated collection of devices for organizing the Xiaomi ecosystem within the smart home. The product range was implemented by a electronic lock that allows a wide range of unlocking methods, as well as two centralized hubs. Here are the names and a brief overview.
M1S
Now you can connect up to 128 devices in the smart home center (provided that repeaters are used). Using the new protocol increases device stability, reduces latency and improves energy efficiency. Also, local scripting has been improved thanks to Zigbee 3.0. THE'M1S has an advanced ambient light sensor that allows you to customize different scenarios depending on the light level in the house.
M2
Aqara Hub M2 is a new smart home center that allows you to control home appliances via a integrated infrared remote control with a range of 360° and also allows you to connect up to 128 devices using the protocol Zigbee 3.0. The hub has a speaker that can be used as a siren, wireless doorbell and for receiving acoustic notifications.
The hub supports Bluetooth connections although at the moment BLE devices are not yet supported. In the future, using this protocol, it will be possible to connect additional accessories for smart home control. The new Hub features a RJ-45 connector for connecting to the Internet via cable. This ensures operational stability, as well as the ability to use the hub without a Wi-Fi router.
N100 Zigbee Edition by Aqara
The lock supports 6 opening methods: Unlock the door using your fingerprint, password, NFC card, one-time password, HomeKit or emergency key. In the near future, the option of open remotely via the Aqara companion app. A loudspeaker is integrated into the lock's interior panel, which plays a ringer when you press a button on the outer one. Also, when you press the button, it is possible configure the notification to be sent to the owner.
Thanks to the use of the protocol Zigbee 3.0 Energy-saving, the device can work up to 1 and a half years with one set of battery. When the first set of battery is low, the device will send a notification. Even if the batteries are completely discharged, it is possible connect an external power source to the Type-C connector on the front panel.
As mentioned at the beginning, the launch was for Russia but we hope that in the coming months these devices will also arrive in Europe, or rather, from us.
