Strangely enough, the smaller and cheaper brother of Redmi 7, or the 7A model, has long since obtained the major release of the Android 10 operating system and a few days ago also MIUI 12, while the more performing Redmi 7 seems almost to have been abandoned at himself, at least until today, the date on which the news of the release of Android 10 emerges also for this cheap but valid terminal.
Android 10 arrives on Redmi 7, but the MIUI 12?
In particular, it is the update V11.0.1.0.QFLEUXM to integrate Android 10 on Redmi 7, but the most attentive of you will certainly have noticed two very important details that block the amazement for this news. In fact, from the initials of the ROM it is clear that this is dedicated to the EEA version of the smartphone, therefore of the European type but above all it is noted that on board we still have MIUI 11 and therefore there is no trace of MIUI 12.
Apparently at the moment Xiaomi does not seem to have any intention of bringing the MIUI 12, at least in the European ROM of this entry-level terminal. I would therefore say that for Redmi 7 there are not many hopes of seeing Android 11 nor MIUI 12.5.
The funny thing is that it took months for Android 10 to reach Redmi 7. Poco badly, let's console ourselves with the start of the rollout which for the released ROM has a weight of about 1,9 GB and which you should receive via OTA notification. Positive thing is that the December 2020 security patches are also included in the update.

If you do not want to wait for the arrival of an OTA notification and then immediately install Android 10 on your Redmi 7, above you will find the link to proceed with the download of the ROM that you can install in two ways, locally or in recovery mode. However, we also leave you the link to the Global Stable ROM and therefore remind you how to proceed with the installation:
- LOCAL MODE
- Transfer the downloaded ZIP file into the smartphone memory and specifically into the folder downloaded_rom main memory. If it is not present, create it yourself;
- Now go to the phone settings and then to the menus About Phone / System Update. Click on the 3 dots at the top right and select "Choose Update Package"(If not, click 10 times on the MIUI logo in the previous screen);
- At this point, select the previously transferred ZIP file to proceed with the installation.
- RECOVERY MODE
- The previously downloaded file will be renamed to update.zip and move it to the main directory of the memory in the smartphone;
- Restart the smartphone in recovery mode by holding down the Power button and the Volume Up button at the same time;
- Scrolling with the volume keys select the option "Install update.zip”And press the Power button to confirm;
- Proceed with the installation and then choose the option "reboot”In case the smartphone does not restart by itself.
