At the Snapdragon 888 Chipset Launch Summit in December 2020 Asus confirmed the arrival of the next ROG Phone. Soon after, the company anticipated it again, but has not yet revealed its name. That said, it is very likely that the next flagship will arrive under the name of ROG Phone 5.
ASUS ROG Phone 5 caught on TENAA: unveiled design and specifications
Well, today an Asus 5G smartphone with model number ASUS_I005DA just appeared on the Chinese certification site TENAA. The device measures 172,834 x 77,252 x 10,29mm which, if true, would be thicker than the ROG Phone 3 (9,85mm).
Also, to confirm the fact that it will be called ROG Phone 5, we can see the wording "05" on the back of the device in addition to the typical "REPUBLIC OF GAMERS" on what looks like a secondary display. Continuing, we read the word "Tencent Games", this suggests that the collaboration with the Chinese game developer will continue in 2021.
As for the specifications, on the other hand, the TENAA certification page suggests the presence of a 6,78-inch OLED display, a battery with a capacity of 6.000 mAh (double cell - 2 × 3000 mAh) and Android 11 as an operating system. Other expected specs include a display with FHD + resolution (as a minimum) and 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 chipset, 65W fast charging, 64MP main camera and much more.
