As surely you will have learned through our latest articles, Xiaomi has organized a sort of contest to give its customers the opportunity to choose the name of the next top-of-the-range smartphone with rather generous dimensions | Xiaomi: new phablet from over 6 inches named by users |. The name that has been chosen is Xiaomi Mi Max | And the winner is ... Xiaomi Mi Max | and unfortunately, for the moment, it's all we know, in addition to the adoption of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and an 6,4 inch display.
But reflecting in a more general way on this situation, why does Xiaomi need to make such a smartphone? Starting from the assumption that a market research will surely have been made to see if such a product is of interest to people, our thinking is that Xiaomi has decided to build a smartphone oriented towards multimedia entertainment (see the big screen) and gaming (see SoC).
Considering, however, the fact that tablets, especially those from 7 inches, are selling less and less, the choice has fallen on a product that has generous dimensions but which supplies the same all the features of a smartphone, network connectivity in the first place.
If we actually think our thinking is correct, we expect that some special accessory, such as a gamepad or a cover with embedded physical keys, will be released in conjunction with the Xiaomi Mi max. However, we would like to point out that these opinions are not based on any evidence, so we could probably go wrong.
