After anticipating it for about a week, the brand belonging to the Xiaomi ecosystem, Black Shark, has just officially presented the new Black Shark 3S; let's find out together!
Official Black Shark 3S with 120Hz AMOLED screen
As the name suggests, the Black Shark 3S is not a completely new device, but a new iteration of the Black Shark 3 released in March this year. The 3S therefore has an identical design to the original, with the display coupled to a pronounced chin and forehead and a single camera at the top. While on the back we have an X design with a skull-shaped module that houses three cameras inside. Immediately below there is the LED logo and another irregular hexagon that carries the magnetic attack for fast charging. The materials used are Corning Gorilla Glass for the back cover, metal for the frame and nano-sculpture technology has been used to redefine the design even more.
Turning to the specifications, the smartphone adopts an AMOLED display produced by Samsung from 6.67 inches diagonal, with Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels and 20: 9) and which supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. So one step ahead of the 90Hz that we found on the predecessor. While the sampling frequency of the touch is the same at 270Hz, which remains the maximum ever reached by a smartphone.
The Black Shark 3S is also the first gaming phone in the world that adopts MEMC technology for intelligent frame compensation. In fact, the fifth generation image processing chip supports up to 120fps thanks to the MEMC video interpolation technology, all this coupled to a panel with JNCD <0,55 and ΔE 1,1, therefore very accurate from the point of view of colors.
As for performance, as we expected the 3S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor produced by Qualcomm China which according to official data would be 25% more powerful than the ordinary one present on devices such as the Xiaomi Mi 10. Numbers in hand , the new device manages to obtain 666280 points on the AnTuTu benchmark platform (test obtained within the brand's laboratories). The CPU is then assisted with LPDDR5 type RAM and UFS 3.1 internal memory. We also find what Black Shark calls "the industry's first memory accelerator," for a smoother gaming experience than ever.
To keep everything very fluid, the new sandwich dissipation system with liquid dissipation for the processor, 5G chip and the charging circuit also takes care of it, so that each component does not affect the other.
For charging instead, the smartphone uses the first system with double parallel battery, for faster charging and lower energy consumption. Ultra-fast charge charging reaches a maximum power of 65W which recharges the integrated 4720mAh battery. While with the magnetic door on the back you can recharge at a power of 18W.
Finally, as regards the operating system and software features, the Black Shark 3S arrives with the JOYUI12 interface which is based on the MIUI12. We will therefore find the much-requested live wallpaper, greater privacy protection and much more. The features instead see the presence of a somatosensory control with 6 types of integrated somatosensory actions and a two-level sensitivity adjustment. Then there is the Voice Control 2.0 function that allows us to perform operations in the game through voice commands, the innovative pressure detection system, capable of detecting the force with which we press the screen through 4 sensors and, as we already have seen in this post, the ability to share the screen with a PC, using the mouse and keyboard to play with the hardware of the smartphone.
The Black Shark 3S is now in pre-sale in China at the price of 3999 Yuan, about 480 euros at the current exchange rate.
